It's MY Birthday! It's MY Birthday! (Please envision with silly dance.)

Wow! What a wonderful day I've had. Thank you all so so much for thinking of me! I love you all for being such sweet and thoughtful friends and family!

Here's the beautiful flowers that were just delivered. They are from Mom and Aub. I LOVE those huge pink daisies! I'm sure they've got some technical flower name, but I'm just going to call them huge pink daisies, because it's my birthday and I can. :-)

Here is the notebook that Jeanne made for me. Isn't it totally Me!? I love it! She also got me a TJ Maxx gift certificate. And Barbi got me a cute little card and a gift cert for Ross! I'm going shopping!

I received one other gift, but I can't take a picture of it because it was an online gift card for Two Peas in a Bucket. Gregory got it for me. He's a sweetheart!

Quentin gave me a kiss for my birthday, but wouldn't tell me Happy Birthday. He did tell me that he already knew it was my birthday. I guess it's enough that he's aware of the fact. :-) Gotta' love him!

I also received lots of text messages and emails from friends and family.

Thank you all again for thinking of me!

Opening Day

Okay, so the hours spent at baseball practice each week have begun to pay off. Saturday was opening day for little league. Quentin and I both get tired of going to practice, but once the little ones don their new uniforms it all seems worth it. They get so excited to play a real game against very serious competitors.

Yes, Quentin caught the ball. No, he did not get ran over. Amazing!

The boy can't seem to keep his feet on the ground. This photo was taken during pre-game warm-ups.

I just love this photos...bent ears and all! He's so darn adorable!

You're outta' here! Okay, is he playing 3rd base or is he the ump?

And, finally the above photo is just to prove that as cute as he may be...he's still a boy playing baseball and therefore MUST adjust!
P.S. A big thank you to Scott (Ann's husband) for taking Quentin and buying him the "proper" equipment. :-)

Miss. Lily

My niece is the cutest little girl! Her personality is just like Quentin's was when he was little. It's no wonder they're best friends.

Quentin had Monday off of school and so Lily got to spend most of the day with her "buddy". Here are some quick snapshots of her playing outside. She found a flower that Quentin had given me and decided that it was HER beautiful flower.

Isn't she just the cutest!?!

Pictures, Pictures, and More Pictures

We had a great time in Monterey. Quentin was very well behaved until we got to 17 Mile Drive and he got soaked by a wave. After that he was pretty much a brat until we were done with the drive. Oh well...everyone has their moments. Friday we ate lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. You know how Q loves shrimp! Friday night we had dinner with Mary Rose at the Old Fisherman's Grotto. She is doing great living in Monterey and going to grad school. Speaking of school...her balcony looks right out at the Naval Graduate School. Whoa, what a view to wake up to every morning! :-)
Here are some pictures...
The first is not great quality, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances. I call it "Swimmin' with the Fishes". This guy's job is to feed the fish in the kelp forest. At one point you could barely see him because the fish were completely surrounding him trying to get the food.

Otters. They are such precocious critters! This picture is of the big otters that get the most attention. The little otters that are in another part of the aquarium were quite entertaining to Quentin. There were three of them fighting the entire time we were watching them. I took pictures of them, but they all turned out looking like giant hairballs. Yep, that's what three otters tangled up and swirling around in the water look like...a giant hairball.

Here's a picture of one of the penguins. Their area of the aquarium is quite a bit smaller than what I was expecting, but it was still pretty neat.

Here's my favorite little animal!
My favorite thing at the Monterey Bay Aquarium has to be the jellies. I love the jelly fish exhibits!

Another...

One more...

17 Mile Drive. If/when I win the lottery, I will buy a house on 17 Mile Drive. It will have a view of the ocean. I can't wait! I may already be a winner, I did buy a ticket this weekend! And I did scope out a few lots that were for sale while we were driving.

Neener, Neener, Neener!

:-)

I'm going to Monterey! I'm going to Monterey!

Ask me if I'm excited. Go ahead...ask me!

I'm completely in love with Monterey and my little man is too. He was invited to go to a birthday party on Friday (no school because of Easter), but when I told him that he had the choice of the party or Monterey, it was a no brainer for him. Well, to be honest he did have to think about it for about 10 seconds. But, all the while there was a huge grin on his face so I knew what the answer was going to be. We head out on Friday morning and come home Saturday night. I believe we'll go to the aquarium this time. And we'll definitely be hitting up the Firsherman's Grotto for lunch. I just talked to my friend Mary Rose and we're going to have dinner with her Friday night.

Gotta' go! I'll post pictures after our trip. :-)

Sick-O

Well, with the cold that was going around I ended up working only about 4.5 hours last week. Seriously. I used a whole week of vacation/sick time. Hopefully, neither one of us will have a relapse and I'll be able to get caught up at work and build up my vacation reserve again.

Here are a couple of pictures I snuck of Quentin while he was napping on Friday.

I took him to the doctor and after 2 1/2 to 3 hours I ended up waiting at the pharmacy for a cough medicine prescription. Now, you would think that since the doctor wrote a PRESCRIPTION that the medicine would be PRESCRIPTION strength. But, NO!! The doctor wrote a PRESCRIPTION for an OVER THE COUNTER cough medicine! We waited that long for NOTHING! I had already been giving Quentin the OTC cough medicine! OY VEY!

Anyway, I am determined to get a full 40 hours at the office this week!

I Feel Crappy...I Mean Happy...Nope, I Mean Crappy

As Quentin would say..."I've got The Laryngitis." He's so cute. He heard everyone saying they had "the flu" so one day when he was six or seven he came in and told me that he had "The Cold" and "The Cough".

I've had laryngitis since Sunday. That wouldn't be so bad, it's the complete lack of energy that seems to be accomanying it that sucks. I don't like taking time off of work unless it is to do something fun. Being sick does not equal having fun people.

Saturday before I got too sick I went out and took a couple pictures of Downtown Sonora. I was trying to replicate the photo on the cover of a book I purchased. It's titled Beautiful Villages and Towns of California. Their photo is much better than mine. I didn't quite get the right angle.

Also on Saturday I went to Modesto and took a class at the scrapbook store, Oh for the Memories. The designer and teacher was Kendra. Here is the cute little project we did.

Take care everyone! And I hope you don't get "The Laryngitis", "The Flu", "The Cold", or "The Cough". :0)

Spring Is On It's Way...

And around here Spring means little league. This is the first year that Quentin is in the "Kid Pitch" league. He's done two years of T-ball and two years of Coach Pitch and now he's finally graduated to "Kid Pitch". He's doing so well already and practices just started! Coach calls him "his hitter". Here are a few pictures from practice yesterday and a few from batting practice at the coach's house.

First one is of my little slugger in the batting cage.

This one would have been a homer!

It's coming to first!

He's really doing well with his catching skills.

Hope you all can make it to a game this year!
